Left 4 Dead Characters, Review, and Gameplay

left 4 dead CHRACTERS

Left 4 Dead is a cooperative first-person shooter arcade-style video game. It was released in 2008 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and has since been ported to Linux and OS X platforms by Valve Corporation. Left 4 Dead 2 was released in 2009.

Set in the immediate aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead follows its four protagonists: Ellis, Francis, Nick, and Bill as they fight against hordes of infected humans while navigating through various environments based on levels set within Washington D.C., New Orleans (“No Mercy”), rural areas (“Swamp Fever”) or urban areas (“Crash Course”), etc.

Each campaign consists of 2 to 5 varying levels.

Left 4 Dead 2 vs Left 4 Dead: Which is Better?

When comparing part 2 with part 1, I find out that the left 4 dead 2 is relatively better than the first part. The quality is better, the sound is better, the graphics are better, and also one more mode is added in the updated Left 4 Dead 2 version (The Last Stand).

Left 4 Dead characters

Below is the list of the characters that I have seen in Left 4 dead and it’s the second part. Both games have the same characters.

Coach

coach

A Fat character in Left 4 Dead playable survivors. His voice is directed by Chad L. Coleman.

Bill

bill

An old military man which somehow survived the infected apocalypse and is now one of our playable survivors in Left 4 Dead. Usually smoking a cigar. His voice is directed by Jim French.

Loius

louis

A Confused looking playable survivor with a white shirt and a red tie like a gentleman. The voice is directed by Earl Alexander.

Francis

francis

Francis is a chill-looking guy which is a playable survivor in the Left 4 Dead series. His voice is directed by Vince Valenzuela.

Nick

nick

Nick is a serious-looking man who doesn’t talk much. His voice is directed by Hugh Dillon.

Ellis

ellis

Ellis is the youngest buddy in the playable Left 4 Dead survivors. His voice is directed by Eric Ladin.

Rochelle

Rochelle

Rochelle is one of the female playable survivors in Left 4 Dead. Her voice is directed by Rochelle Aytes.

Zoey

zoey

Zoey is an amateur playable female survivor in Left 4 Dead. Her voice is directed by Jen Taylor.

Boomer

boomer

Now, here comes the king of flu which is Bommer. Bommer is especially infected in Left 4 Dead 2. When it comes close to survivors, he spits flu-like liquid which blurs the vision of survivors and causes a horde to attack that survivor. His voice is directed by Fred Tatasciore.

Tank

tank

Tank is the most powerful special infected in Both Left 4 Dead parts. He is a red zombie with a small head and without hair. His voice is directed by Fred Tatasciore.

Spitter

As you can guess from its name, he spits a green acid that can damage survivors. She is a special infected. The voice is directed by Dee Bradley Baker.

Jockey

Jockey is one of the most annoying and weird special infected in the Left 4 Dead series. He climbs once a survivor and when he got you, you have no chance to survive if you are alone. Your friends can stop him from resisting.

Hunter

Hunter is also a special infected that can jump very long. It will let you down and start killing you. Your friends can help you to fight against hunters. His voice is directed by Mike Patton.

Smoker

The smoker is also one of the most annoying special infected in Left 4 Dead 2. He has a long tough by which it traps a survivor until someone helps that survivor.

Charger

charger

The charger is a special infected with one big and one small arm. His voice is directed by Dee Bradley Baker.

The Witch:

Well, in my opinion, the witch is the most powerful special infected. When you encounter you will see that she is crying. If you try to kill or get close to her or somehow disturb her, she will knock you and kill you.

Armored Zombie

armored zombie

Armored is not a special infected but is armored. You cannot kill him by shooting his face or front side. You can kill him by shooting on his backside.

These are the main character of Left 4 Dead.

Campaigns:

There are 14 different campaigns in the Left 4 Dead 2. Below is a detailed overview of each campaign.

Dead Center:

Dead center is the first campaign of the game. It has 4 levels with different areas like in the first level the survivors fight in a building. In the second level survive get out of the building and fight openly. On their level, they go to a mall, and on the last level, they add fuel to the car which is placed in that mall. You can watch the complete gameplay of the Dead Center below:

The Passing

The passing is the second campaign of the game. It has 3 levels. The story starts when they get out of the mall with the help of the car that they fulled in Dead Center that car stops near a bridge and they have to go to the bridge from the other side. You can watch the gameplay of The Passing below:

Dark Carnival

Now, here comes the third Campaign which is Dark Carnival. In this campaign, there are 5 levels. The survivors play in the play area, near the roller coaster, and at the end, they go to a concert which is the final level.

You can watch Left 4 Dead 2 The Dark Carnival gameplay below:

Swamp Fever

Do you like to visit forests with a lot of infected waiting to kill you? Well, in my opinion, Swamp fever is one of the worst campaigns in Left 4 Dead 2. I don’t like this campaign because sometimes as a beginner you will lost in the forest and it is also possible that a bunch of infected zombies will kill you. Here is the gameplay:

Hard Rain

Be careful when a storm came with a lot of infected. You have to be very careful during playing this campaign. In this campaign, survivors have to get the fuel by passing through factories, and farms and getting back to that to that boat. Here is the gameplay of Hard Rain.

The Parish

This is my favorite level and also one of the most difficult for players. The end part of this campaign is the Bridge where the survivor has to go through a bridge which is quite difficult. If a tank hits you with its hand then it is possible that you will fall into the water which will cause your death.

You can watch the gameplay of the parish below:

The Sacrifice

This is another campaign of Left 4 Dead in urban areas. This campaign has only three levels but is enough to give you a challenging gameplay experience. You can watch the gameplay below.

No Mercy

No mercy is one of the most popular campaigns in the Left 4 Dead 2 community. To be honest, for the first time when I played Left 4 Dead 2, the campaign was No Mercy. You have to go through buildings till you reach the helipad. You can watch Left 4 Dead 2 No mercy gameplay below:

Crash Course:

Crash Course is another campaign in left 4 dead 2 with only two levels. This campaign gives you a unique experience. I don’t know why but the crash course is somehow emotional for me. You can watch the Left 4 Dead 2 crash course gameplay below:

Death Toll

Death Toll is also one of the coolest campaigns in Left 4 Dead 2. The whole campaign is night based which makes it more attractive. You can watch the gameplay of Death Toll below:

Dead Air:

Don’t be confused with Death Toll and Dead Air. Both these are different campaigns. Dead Air comes right after Dead Air. After completing 4 levels, you have to fuel a plane to fly over the destructive area. Here is teh gameplay of the Left 4 Dead 2 Dead Air campaign:

Blood Harvest:

Blood Harvest is another campaign of Left 4 Dead 2 in which the survivors have to pass through the forest, killing hordes until they reach a farmhouse which is the final part of this campaign.

Cold Stream:

Cold Stream is teh 2nd last campaign in Left 4 dead 2 which is quite interesting. This is also one of the most difficult and challenging campaigns because the infected come in groups which makes it difficult for survivors to survive longer. Here is the gameplay:

The Last Stand:

The last stand is the last campaign of this game. This campaign has only two levels in which survivors go to the lighthouse at night. You can watch the gameplay here:
